PETER FRAMPTON - Do You Feel Like We Do

The Record Plant in Sausalito - 3.24.75

In 1975, Peter Frampton recorded his epic Frampton Comes Alive album including a lengthy take on "Do You Feel Like We Do". A couple months before recording that here in San Francisco, Peter introduced this extended, wah-wah laden version in a radio broadcast live from The Record Plant in Sausalito. Check out this full version minus the audience. It's a different take on the song that's gone on to be a legendary classic rock performance.

It was 19 years ago today that we lost Bill Graham. No one could ever take his place and although he's no longer here producing shows and providing entertainment for the Bay Area and the country, we do remember and honor his legacy each night as we bring you the wonderful music that makes up Wolfgang's Vault. Bill Graham's personal archive of legendary concert recordings. Tonight, we grab one from the last night at the Fillmore East starring The Allman Brothers. Here's Bill to do the honors.

DOOBIE BROTHERS - Take Me In Your Arms

Rainbow Theater in London, England - 8.31.77

The Doobie Brothers just keep on rollin' despite the years and all the changes that have impacted the band. It's made for many great musical memories including this one from a concert in London during what many call a "transitionary period" for the band. The Doobies had recruited two hotshots from Steely Dan ... guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter and vocalist Michael McDonald. Both were big fans of Motown as was founder Tom Johnston who brought this song to the band. Johnston would eventually step aside after this tour and start a solo career as the Doobies went on to enjoy their greatest success.

TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS - Listen To Her Heart

Winterland in San Francisco - 12.30.78

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers have always had a soft spot in their hearts for San Francisco and no doubt they remember his special concert at Winterland on December 30th of 1978. The Heartbreakers played Winterland the night before the revered venue closed forever with a memorable set by the Grateful Dead on New Year's Eve. With only two albums to their name, the band played as though they had something to prove. The results speak for themselves.

JOURNEY - Any Way You Want It

Reunion Arena in Dallas - 11.6.81

In 1981, few bands were bigger than Journey. They were riding high with killer album sales and sold out shows across America. They had just released their Escape album that went on to be their biggest ever and to help promote it, they decided to broadcast their concert live on the radio and over a new cable TV channel that Steve Perry called "M Television". Here's their encore from that ... "Any Way You Want It."
