Welcome to my bandwidth on The Band. I follow Struber each weekday evening from 7
to midnight, providing the perfect legendary classics as the soundtrack after
sundown.
I think I was a radio DJ in several of my past lives, at least
since about the Coolidge administration. It's rather frightening to think that
many of the songs I play today on The Band were brand new when I played them at
whatever radio station hadn't fired me yet.
Those songs and me, we're still around, but most of those stations
aren't. Revenge is sweet.
I grew up in Philadelphia, and was first on the air
there. But over the years I've also
broadcast in Atlanta, San Jose, San Diego, Columbus, Detroit, Milwaukee,
etc. As Harry Chapin sang, that's how
this business goes. Most of my DJ
career, though, has been in Cincinnati, which is just like San Francisco with
the hills and all, but Tony Bennett
never sings about it. Oh, and Cincinnati
has tornadoes instead of earthquakes. It's always something, isn't it?
When I'm not playing legendary classics on The Band, I'm
working on my website, which will someday either make me rich and famous or get
me arrested. Being a life-long news
junkie, my site will hopefully inspire a new generation of people who not only
follow the news obsessively but might even understand it:
www.unclejayexplains.com
Hope you find it fun.
New episodes appear every Monday. Lookee there to the right...there it is!
Otherwise I'm cranking out the legendary classics on The Band. See you there.
