Melissa McCarthy fires extra from set for mistreating child:
Melissa McCarthy is directing a new movie and she fired an extra from the set the other day. The “extra” is a woman in her 20’s and witnesses said she had been struggling with her kid all day the other day, harping on the child to "stop it" and quiet down . The woman was loud enough that it disrupted the production, which included more than 200 extras. The last straw came when the mom harshly jerked the child up in the air by the wrist -- and Melissa McCarthy saw it all. Melissa immediately had the woman removed from the set and the woman was told that Melissa won’t tolerate abuse of any kind on her set.
Obama’s prom photo posted:
Prom season brings back many memories, especially for people who went to school with the most powerful man in the world. We’ve got a picture of then Barry Obama (now Barack Obama) and some pals taken the night of his senior prom back in 1979 in Hawaii. Also published with the photo is a yearbook message he wrote for the girlfriend of a pal. It reads, "Kelli, you are extremely sweet and foxy, I don't know why Greg would want to spend any time with me at all! You really deserve better than clowns like us; you even laugh at my jokes!" He might be president now, but he was a typical teenager back then. Check out the photo at www.sf1037.com on the DB show page!

SFSU professor's class assignment raises ethics questions:
A San Francisco State University professor considering a run for Oakland mayor is drawing scrutiny for a class assignment that asked students to create a political campaign ad and gave them the option of developing it for him. The professor said he would use the ad if it were good but ethics experts basically said "Nope, you can't do that". The chaiwoman of CA's Fair Political Practices Commission says "A state university professor thinking about a run for mayor and who asks his students to create a campaign ad for his benefit "would be in some ways forcing a contribution to himself." The professor is now saying he was being sarcastic when he brought that up to the class and never had any intention of using their ideas. The agency plans to review the matter to see whether an investigation is warranted.
