The 49ers and Broncos took their AFC vs. NFC West battle east to London this Sunday and put on a pretty good show for the locals.
San Francisco grabbed their second win of the season by dodging Denver 24-16 behind a big second half from third string QB Troy Smith. Smith guided the Niners on three-straight scoring drives in the fourth quarter, throwing for a score and running for another.
Broncos signal caller Kyle Orton continued his Pro-Bowl caliber season by tossing for 369 yards and a score but his late interception with less than a minute remaining ended Denver’s drive as they neared midfield trailing by eight.
San Franciso (2-6) has now won two of its past three games while Denver (2-6) has lost four-straight contests.
